The Countdown Has Officially Begun!The 2009 JCC Maccabi Games® will be held in San Francisco for the first time, August 2 - 7, 2009In August 2009, San Francisco will celebrate the JCC Maccabi Games®, welcoming 1,300 Jewish athletes ages 13 to 16, along with their families and friends, more than 1,000 volunteers and 400 to 600 host families. In this Olympics-style athletic competition, delegates from the San Francisco Bay Area, across North America, Israel and various international locations, will test their athletic abilities, gain confidence, learn teamwork and have a great time.The JCC Maccabi Games® promote and encourage the health, physical fitness and well-being while instilling teenage athletes with an appreciation for Jewish values, enriching their Jewish identity and encouraging their identification with the State of Israel.
